Album Review: Switchfoot - Vice Verses
Posted by Stephanie Williams on 11/02 at 12:49 PM
Grade: A
When I found out that Switchfoot was releasing a new album on September 22, I couldn’t wait to get a hold of it and find out what new material the band had in store. The band was originally known as a Christian rock band, but has transitioned over to more mainstream rock. I really respect the musicians for their ability to put so much emotion, musicality, and a strong message into every song they perform. Vice Verses lives up to that reputation, and enhanced it even more. The album has such an original and unique sound that sets it apart from other musicians in the genre. Also, each song carries an important message that uplifts the listener and provides an inspirational quality.

Album Review: Saves The Day - Daybreak
Posted by Stephanie Williams on 09/30 at 05:25 PM
Some artists, like Adele, have mastered how to create a successful, diverse album about a break-up. Daybreak, by Saves the Day, is not even close to the same caliber. The long anticipated seventh studio album dropped on September 13, 2011. This album completes the trilogy that began with Sound The Alarm in 2006 and continued with Under The Boards in 2007. The album holds true to front-man Chris Conley’s ability to put his soul into the music and create a feeling of realness in the tracks to share with listeners. The tracks on the album are individually emotional and easy to connect with, however listening to the whole album at once starts to turn in to a chore. The themes and feelings expressed in the majority of the tracks are in fact too similar and do not provide much variation in the album.

Album Review: David Guetta - Nothing But the Beat
Posted by Stephanie Williams on 09/14 at 05:59 PM
Grade: A-
I am a huge fan of house music and when I heard that David Guetta was releasing a new album I was more than eager to listen as soon as possible. Just as I expected, the album, Nothing But the Beat, is very well done. It features A-list artist collaborations and catchy songs. If you aren’t familiar with David Guetta, he is known for his dance hits and remixes of other popular songs.
