Hip-hop’s songstress, Jhene Aiko will be releasing a new EP called Sail Out on November 12th, and a highly awaited debut album, Souled Out in 2014. Aiko just released the tracklist and artwork for her EP which is comprised of seven songs. The EP includes “Bed Peace,”Aiko’s new single featuring Childish Gambino. However, the tracklist for Souled Out has not yet been released.

Although Aiko may not be super popular by name in the mainstream arena, she signed a record deal with well-known producer No ID’s record label named Artium in 2011. Artium is also a part of Def Jam Recordings. In addition, she released a mixtape, Sailing Soul(s) during the same year. The mixtape included popular songs, “My Mine” and “Stranger.”

In case you aren’t familiar with Aiko, her soothing, yet powerful voice can be heard on the hooks and verses of Drake, Big Sean, B2K, and many more. The themes of her music always seems to relate to sailing and souls. According to an interview with Aiko, she made a promise to herself that she would ‘sail herself instead of selling herself’ in the music industry. I think this is why she isn’t seen in the spotlight as much as you would expect. Her authenticity is felt through her songs and her lyrics are very personal, which lets her fans into her life. She even speaks freely about her enjoyment of smoking marijuana.

Look out for her new EP and album. Her vocals are simply amazing!

Sail Out tracklist:

1. The Vapors featuring Vince Samples

2. Bed Peace featuring Childish Gambino

3. Stay Ready (What A Life) featuring Kendrick Lamar

4. WTH featuring Ab-Soul

5.The Worst

7. Comfort Inn Ending (Freestyle) (Bonus track)
