Passion Pit to Perform
Posted by Marcus Correll on 10/13 at 11:48 AM
This Friday at 8pm, Passion Pit—an electro-pop dance band—will perform at the Bryce Jordan Center. The concert is the second big college show the BJC will host, the first being the B.o.B show held at the beginning of the semester. Tickets for the public are $32.50, but General Admission has already sold out. Tickets for students with a University Park ID are just $20.
The concert is part of the “Campus Consciousness Tour” that promotes environmentally helpful activities, as well as music. For those unfamiliar with Passion Pit, think a faster version of MGMT with a little sprinkle of some dub-step, all blended together. Hit songs from the band include “Moth’s Wings,” “Sleepyhead,” and ‘To Kingdom Come”—songs that are bound to the get the crowd dancing.
Passion Pit will likely play songs from their Manners debut album and their original EP Chunk of Change. Nick Johnson, a junior in IST and fan of the band said, “I would go, but i saw them last year and they literally played every song of theirs. So what are they going to play different?”
But for many this will be the first time to see the band in this area since they generally only play in large metropolitan venues in NYC and L.A.
Taking a quote from Passion Pit themselves, “everything is going to the beat,” just like your foot the rest of your body if you go to this concert.
