Pittsburgh to host HotChaCha this Friday, June 10

Cleveland’s own HotChaCha band will be performing this Friday at Howler’s Coyote Cafe on Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh at 7:00pm.
They’ll be serving up the groovy electricity that’s attracted a steady fan base throughout their tour of the east coast. They also recently played in Boston and New York, cities where they often find comfort and support within their eclectic indie stylings.
Once an all-girl band, HotChaCha has morphed into a co-ed quartet made up of Jovana Batkovic, Mandy Aramouni, Roseanna Safos, and now, Greg Gebhard. By implementing a male element, the girl power edge that combines gritty guitar with muted lyrics (reminiscent of Stevie Nicks) has achieved an Arcade Fire-like emotional sound that is unique and interesting. Plus, the high intensity in which the group delivers a show promises a great time.
They are currently in the works to release a new LP (here’s hoping for a preview at the show), but count on hearing follower’s favorites like “Notes of Urgency” and “Bukarest” from their EP entitled Fantastic Static.
These tunes, videos, and more info on the band and its tour dates can be found on Hotchacha’s website here.

Bio: Lindsay Carolla is a senior studying English, and Italian language and literature at the Pennsylvania State University. She is an on-air personality for the Lion 90.7fm on the Jam 91 Show. She finds pleasure in traveling, attending concerts, and literary symbolism. Lindsay has an eclectic taste in music which ranges from her favorite rap artist, Notorious B.I.G., to her favorite indie darling, Modest Mouse. But what she enjoys most is when two unlikely musical genres successfully combine to create a new aesthetic, such as can be found in the band Brokencyde.
