SPA Noontime Series Welcomes Andrew Jackson Jazz Ensemble
Posted by Ryan Chase on 10/07 at 04:06 PM
The SPA Noontime Series features new, diverse musical acts each Friday at noon in the Hetzel Union Building (HUB). This week showcases the Andrew Jackson Jazz Ensemble.
Andrew Jackson (the ensemble’s namesake) has been playing music since he was three-years-old, specializing as a drummer. He graduated from Penn State in 1974 with a degree in secondary education.
After teaching for twelve years in various schools across the state, Andrew returned to Penn State where he served as a College of Education academic adviser for twenty years. Outside of work, Andrew continued his passion for music, forming a number of bands. He also has a surging interest in multiculturalism, for which he earned a Ph.D. (See also http://www.ed.psu.edu/news/jackson.asp)
This is the first time Jackson has played the SPA Noontime Series.
