A Few Notable Programs Worth Your Time
Radio: A Hospital Deals With the Downturn – Friday at 7:33am and 8:33am – Hospitals are meant to help the sick, but they’re businesses too. WPSU’s Emily Reddy looks at how a hospital in our area is dealing with declining income, and what the impact of federal health care reform might be.
TV: TO THE BEST OF MY KNOWLEDGE – Tuesday, 8pm –Some adults are turning to weight loss surgery, a surgical procedure that decreases the size of the stomach and reduces food intake. Penn State President Graham Spanier and his guests, Dr. Ann Rogers and Dr. Jan Ulbrecht, will discuss the procedure and outcomes.
TV: IN SEARCH OF MYTHS AND LEGENDS – Wednesday, 10:30pm – British historian Michael Woods searches for historical veracity behind four famous legends: the Queen of Sheba, King Arthur, Shangri-La and Jason and the Argonauts.
TV: CONVERSATIONS FROM PENN STATE – Thursday, 9pm – The documentary film, No. 4 Street of Our Lady, tells the story of Francisca Halamajowa, a Polish-Catholic woman who hid 16 of her Jewish neighbors during World War II. Judy Maltz, one of the filmmakers and a senior lecturer Penn State, discusses the making of the film as well as her personal connection to this inspirational tale. The film will be shown in its entirety as well.
