What’s Cooking this Thanksgiving Week!
Radio: National Day of Listening - “Nov. 23, 24, 25, and 26 during Morning Edition” – WPSU-FM is encouraging listeners to take part in the National Day of Listening, a Story Corps project that invites you to interview a loved on the day after Thanksgiving and save the story for posterity. Our radio producers want to get the party started and inspire Central Pennsylvania residents to take part. So we’re interviewing OUR favorite people and you’ll hear from us all this week.
TV: AMERICAN EXPERIENCE – “Seabiscuit” – Monday, 9pm – “Seabiscuit” recalls the squat and ugly racehorse that riveted the nation in the late 1930s. Interviewees include author Laura Hillenbrand (“Seabiscuit: An American Legend”).
TV: AMERICAN MASTERS – “Woody Guthrie: Ain’t Got No Home” – Wed., 9pm – “The music is at the core of what it means to be an American,” says Bruce Springsteen of the work of folk-music icon Woody Guthrie (1912-67), who is recalled via archival footage, photos and recordings.
TV: EXTRAORDINARY JOURNEY – Thurs., 8:30pm – A celebration of northeastern Pennsylvania’s Eastern European heritage. Included: archival images from regional historical societies; interviews with experts.
A Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
