We all have TV favorites on Channel 3—Past and Present

Having been in public TV for over 35 years, I’ve seen a lot of TV shows.  Some memorable ... some forgettable ... and some appreciated now that they are gone.

“Firing Line” with William F. Buckley Jr. is one of those programs that with the gauze of history, has become one of those programs that is missed.  It was a civil discourse of political ideas without shouting or chest-thumping.  It’s too bad that today’s news talk shows don’t emulate that kind of attitude—respectful disagreement, with respectful being the operative word.
