Life in Extreme Deep-Sea Environments

A public lecture entitled “Beyond the Edge of the Sea:
Expeditionary Art and Science” on Friday, March 26th at 7pm in the Earth and Mineral Sciences Art Museum and Gallery on the ground floor of Deike Building on the University Park campus. Visiting Duke University deep-sea researcher Dr. Cindy Van Dover and artist Karen Jacobsen will discuss deep-sea creatures living in extreme environments on Earth. Audiences of all ages will enjoy a glimpse into the world of
hydrothermal vents while surrounded by the “Beyond the Edge of the Sea”
and “Life In the Dark” art exhibits at the EMS Museum. This event is
sponsored by the Penn State Astrobiology Research Center and the NASA
