Historic: other

6:00 pm

Join the National Park Service staff at 6:00 pm on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Blacksmith shop as they recreate the famous American Highlanders unit of heroic, patriotic volunteers who went off to fight in the Mexican-American War of 1846.  During their tour of duty they participated in many major engagements including the bloody battle of Chapultepec, where a local ironmaster led his unit into the battle, only to be fatally wounded at the moment of victory.
