A Valentine’s Day Concert will be presented by the State College Area Municipal Band Sunday, February 14 at 3:00 in the State College Area High School South Auditorium.  Musical Valentines range from standard ballads such as “Days of Wine and Roses” and “Laura” to an unusual work titled “By Love Inviolate” featuring harp, flute, oboe and Horn passages.  Highlight of the program is the final movement of Howard Hanson’s masterpiece, “Romantic Symphony.”

Also included on the program is the Broadway classic “My Fair Lady,” Bernstein’s lively “Overture to Candide” and a lyrical Italian march entitled “Alba Sentimentale” (Sentimental Dawn) by Fasoli.  Bill Fatula, principal trumpet, will solo in “You Made Me Love You.”

Conductor Dr. Ned C. Deihl is in his fourteenth year with the band.  Admission is free. Donations welcome.
