Take Note: Long-term Care Crisis

According to the Pennsylvania Medical Society, long-term care could be Pennsylvania's next long-term crisis. Severe understaffing, low government reimbursements and high liability costs may compromise care for Pennsylvania's more than 77,000 nursing home patients. Edward Dench, M.D., is an anesthesiologist and past president of the Pennsylvania Medical Society.
