15 Minutes: Penn State Blue Band

15 Minutes: Penn State Blue Band

The Penn State Blue Band has a rich history of excellence dating back to its founding in 1899 as a six member drum and bugle corps.  In 1901 Andrew Carnegie made a donation to allow the formation of a brass band.  In 1923, the old brown military style uniforms were cast aside for nice, sharp blue uniforms.  Today, the Penn State Blue Band is 252 members strong and has represented Penn State with dignity and class at the Tournament of Roses, 32 bowl games and special events. Richard Bundy,Ph.D.,is the director of the Penn State Blue Band.
