The StoryCorps oral history project visited Bellefonte in the summer of 2010. Listen to the stories recorded in central Pennsylvania.

This national oral history project gave central Pennsylvanians the chance to record conversations with family and friends. The interviews recorded last summer are now part of an archive at the Library of Congress. Excerpts of these interviews can also be heard on WPSU-FM and here at WPSU.org.

Douglas Stiffler, a Chinese history professor from Juniata College talks with Mao Xiaoyu who is a student from China. Mao is interested in politics, and has discovered an admiration for a 1950’s Chinese student leader named Lin Zhao. The day before coming to America, Mao even took a trip to visit her grave.
