Dr. Gaskew is an incredible asset to the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and brings real life experience into the institution of higher learning. He is not only an incredible Professor but also a great mentor and excellent role-model. One of his quotes that I will never forget is: “It is what it is.” He will NOT let you give up on your dreams and will help you as much as he can. He goes above and “Beyond” what is expected of him. You will learn things that cannot be taught out of a text-book and aquire that real life experience in his classes with hands on work. “Study hard, never stop reading, and YOU will succeed!” He is an inspiration to all whole has the opportunity to know him. He has taken the Criminal Justice program at Pitt-Bradford to the next level. While finishing off my degree at Pitt-Oakland and interning at CSI Investigations I was often asked if I had classes with Dr. Gaskew and how many people respected “our Crime Lab” and the real-life experience it had to offer. That was one less thing future employers had to train me on. “Learn as much as you can and never stop, make yourself diversified.” His words will stick with you throughout your life and make you a better person.
