Blue Moon Over Cuba by William B. Ecker & Kenneth Jack
In October of 1962, the United States was held rapt by the Cuban Missile Crisis. This book tells the story of Navy members who held a little-known, but important job. They took aerial reconnaissance photos over Cuba.

I was a member of VFP-62; left in early 1961. I still knew some of those folks from the Cuban Missile Crisis period. LT Arthur Day was a pilot on USS Intrepid CVA-11 VFP-62 Det.33 with me for the 1960-1961 Mediterranean Cruise. This excellent book is a realistic account of VFP-62 operations… Along with the movie “Thirteen Days”, brings back memories of a most dangerous period in history… So grateful that this book has been written to memorialize those events.
