Biography:

Chris ExarchosChris Exarchos believes in effective affordable government. He has 28 years of experience as a small businessman, public servant, and elected official.

During his tenure as chairman of the Centre County Board of Commissioners, he led three major capital projects without raising taxes. Exarchos encourages economic development and recognizes the need to control the size and spending of government. His Ph.D. in geochemistry enables his understanding of environmental issues and energy advancement.

Exarchos lives with his wife and two sons in Lemont where he enjoys hunting, fishing, and relaxing at the family farm.

Congress should reduce emissions by supporting alternative energy and by using economic incentives and tax breaks to support a voluntary carbon reduction effort.

Energy Independence

Congress should support alternative energy research, such as clean-coal and ethanol projects, and also promote nuclear power and conservation.

No Child Left Behind

I agree with the law’s goals, but not with its “one-size-fits-all” approach to education that overemphasizes testing and doesn't provide enough money to schools to achieve success. The law should be modified.

Transportation Funding

The current funding is appropriate.
